WOW - Women of the Word Bible Study
I hope to see more and more women studying the Word of God. Setting aside time daily to spend with God has truly been a blessing to me. Last year at SCN we spent time in the Gospel of John and in his letters, John 1, 2 & 3. I always learn a lot, even if I have studied a book more than once!SCN Women's Ministry will once again provide you this opportunity of in-depth study and fellowship. We will be using the Wisdom of the Word curriculum. Wisdom of the Word Bible studies have been a faithful companion in an in-depth study of God's word for 40 years now!
This year we will be adding a day-time session for those who cannot attend an evening service. Unfortunately, we cannot provide child care at either session at this time.
Won't you join us? We will be studying Jeremiah and Daniel.
At this time in Israel's history, many generations have passed since Moses led them. This new generation has forsaken God. They no longer seek HIM. They have forgotten the crossing of the Red Sea, the miracles in the desert, and the cruelty of slavery. God is mercifully slow to anger, but HE has reached HIS limit and will no longer allow such wickedness to continue. They will be invaded. They will be captured. Even through this, God gives them a hope. He remains true to HIS promises.
Jeremiah lives out this atrocity with his kinsmen, continuing to bring the Word of the Lord to them during their captivity. Not everyone in Judah and Israel has forsaken God.
You may recall another youth carried off to Babylon at this time to live out his days. Daniel. It seemed only fitting to conclude our season of Bible study with the book of Daniel.
We have much to learn from these prophets, and this time in Israel's history, history does repeat itself.
I am excited and am looking forward to this study! Introduction to Jeremiah will be Sept 1 for the evening session and September 2 for the morning session.
